What is Past Perfect Tense?
Past Perfect Tense represents that the work had completed already in past time, Past Perfect Tense uses Had with Past participle (Verb3). Let’s read below identification of Past Perfect Tense for better understanding.

Introduction of Past Perfect Tense in Hindi
हिंदी के जिन वाक्यों के क्रिया के अंत में ‘चुका था/चुकी थी/चुके थे/ रहता है अथवा ‘या था, यी थी, ये थे’ रहता है तो उन वाक्यों का अनुवाद प्रायः Past Perfect Tense में करते हैं |
Past Perfect Tense के कई वाक्यों में दो वाक्य अथवा कार्य होने का पता लगता है, उसमे ये भी मालूम होता है की एक कार्य दूसरे से पहले हुआ है, तो इनका अनुवाद करने के लिए चुका था वाले वाक्य को Past Perfect Tense के अनुसार बनाया जाता है तथा दूसरे वाक्य को Past Indefinite Tense के अनुसार बनाया जाता है| इन उदहारण को पढ़े और समझे की इनका अनुवाद किस प्रकार होगा| कई वाक्यों में जब का इस्तेमाल होता है, तो उसके लिए When का इस्तेमाल करते है|
| पुलिस के आने से पहले चोर भाग चूका था | | The thief had run away before the police came. |
| जब हमलोग वहां पहुंचे तो दावत शुरू हो चुकी थी | | When we reached there the dinner had started. |
पुलिस के आने से पहले चोर भाग चूका था | इस वाक्य में चोर पहले ही भाग चूका था, तो इसका अनुवाद Past Perfect Tense में होगा, लेकिन पुलिस के आने से पहले का अनुवाद Past Indefinite Tense में होगा| The thief had run away before the police came.
कुछ वाक्यों में Past Perfect Tense के साथ साथ पहले ही, पहले, इसके पूर्व जैसे शब्द होते है जिससे ये पता लगता है की कार्य पहले ही समाप्त हो चूका है|

Rule : Subject + (had) + Verb3 + Objects + Etc.
| जब मैंने उसे पीटा,तब वह गाली दे चूका था| | When I beat him, he had abused. |
| मैं पंहुचा,लेकिन घंटी बज चुकी थी | | I reached, but the bell had rung. |
| उसके आने से पहले मैंने अपना काम समाप्त कर चूका था | | I had finished my work before he came. |
| मैंने अपने ही घर बेच चूका था | | I had sold my own house. |
| मेरे पहुंचने से पहले ही ट्रैन खुल चुकी थी | | The train had departured before I reached. |
