What is Past Indefinite Tense?
The work that completed in past time is considered as Past Indefinite Tense. If any work started few time back and completed already in past time that sentences known as Past Indefinite Tense. We use second form of verb for Past Indefinite Tense. Let’s read below lesson to understand the sentences.

Introduction of Past Indefinite Tense in Hindi
Past Indefinite Tense के वाक्यों और उनकी क्रियाओ से यह पता लगता है कि कार्य भूतकाल(Past Time) में किसी समय समाप्त हो गया है| जब हिंदी वाक्यों के क्रियाओं कि बनावट या वाक्यों के अंत में आ/ई/ए + (था/थी/थे) होते है, तब इन क्रियाओं को Past Indefinite Tense का माना जाता है तथा Past Indefinite Tense के अनुसार उनका अनुवाद होता हैं|
Past indefinite tense में उपयुक्त क्रिया के v2 form का प्रयोग किया जाता है |जैसे : मैंने खाया/मैंने खाया था | I ate. (‘eat’ का v2 ‘ate’)
Note: “मैंने खाया” या “मैंने खाया था” दोनों का अनुवाद “I ate”हीं होगा | कुछ लोग ‘मैंने खाया था ” का अनुवाद “I had eaten.” बना देते हैं जो गलत है | वे गलती से इसकी क्रिया को Past Perfect Tense में होना समझ लेते हैं |

| मैं काम करना चाहता था | | I wanted to do work. |
| वह एक डॉक्टर बनना चाहता था | | He wanted to be a doctor. |
| उसने मुझे मारने की कोशिश की | | He tried to kill me. |
| दशरथ अयोध्या पर राज करते थे | | Dashrath reigned over Ayodhya. |
| शिक्षक ने हमें अंग्रेजी पढ़ाई | | Teacher taught us english. |

Rule : Subject + did + Not + Verb1 + Objects + Etc.

| वे मेरी मदद नहीं करना चाहते थे | | They did not want to help me. |

| तुमने अचार नहीं खाया| | You did not eat pickle. |
